Process Reengineering
If it works, don't fix it. We've all heard that before and often it is true. When it doesn't work anymore, everyone knows it and it is time to revisit that process. But what about those processes that do work, but could work better? How do you know when it is time to reevaluate the process and if it is worth your time?
There are a number of tests that we can apply to your current process to determine if there is value in changing it. These measurements along with industry research and our knowledge of technology can provide you with the necessary information to make the decision. One good source of information is your competitors. What are they doing? Have you been to trade shows? What is new there? In and of itself, this information will not be sufficient but may be the catalyst you need to begin evaluating your own process.
Another way to ensure you are not using antiquated processes is to have a plan of replacement ahead of time. Large facilities do this all the time. Take Coors Field in Denver, Colorado for example. They have a capital budget and each year have a scheduled upgrade of the facility. This is good planning. It not only ensures that things are working at their peak, but provides a process for evaluating your process. It does not get any more efficient then that.
Let us help you look at your current situation and help you determine if there is a need for Process Reengineering or IT Alignment. Don't just stay with your competition - stay ahead of them.
